Re-envisioning the National Park Experience
While a faculty member at the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2009, I championed the development of the first trans-disciplinary design course. Co-teaching with the Dean of Communications, John Lowe and Industrial Design faculty, Joel Whittkamp we worked with 20 students from 9 different disciplines to create a new visitor center experience for the Fort Pulaski National Monument on Cockspur Island, GA.
Students developed proposals to increase stewardship for the next generation of National Park Service visitors as preparation for the NPS Centennial celebrations in 2016. The first phase of the project included renovations to the visitor center which were completed in the Summer of 2010.
