Meditation on Interior Rue Iyenes
What do I see
when entering a room?
Shafts of light on the newsprint,
the dresser in the shadows,
the pot of coffee
on the table.
A tray with three cups.
It is still,
but a breeze
ruffles the napkin
It is morning,
and the book
I will pull off the shelf
leans to the right
I am temporary.
The phone is ringing.
